No-Spend August (Day Two)

The rules were clear and self-imposed: nothing but rent, transport and groceries. The rules did not survive contact with a Tuesday, a warm afternoon, and a shop that had put the iced drinks at the front where anyone could see them.

The maths does not work. Two of the weddings share eleven guests. One of the guests posts everything. The plan involves a different jacket, different earrings, and a quiet confidence that nobody is looking as closely as she thinks. Everybody is looking exactly that closely.
