The Slow Lane We Chose

The EU lane flowed. Ours did not. There was time, in that motionless queue, to reflect on sovereignty, on borders, and on the specific irony of waiting fifty minutes to be reminded of a decision made in a voting booth. The queue does not care how you voted. The queue only grows.
